Holy Cross Alumnae Restarting or Redirecting Your Career Program
September 2008
"This was a wonderful way to discuss your challenges and realize you’re not alone."
"This has moved me forward leaps and bounds."
"Great resources here today."
"The program came at an important time for me, personally, and it helped me to make the first steps in changing my own career."
The preceding comments from participants speak volumes about the importance and value of a recent career services program offered to alumnae.
The Holy Cross Alumnae “Restarting or Redirecting Your Career“ program held on campus September 25 addressed the timely and topical issues of managing work-life balance and handling career change.
Gail Radcliffe ’78, Sarah O’Keefe ’91 and Stacy Woods ’94, all representing different perspectives on balancing family and worked, shared their personal stories, insight and advice to the 52 alumnae in attendance that day.
The panel discussion, moderated by Andrea Eastman, a career counselor in the Career Planning Center, offered a valuable contribution to alumnae meeting those challenges.
The “Opportunity Knocks” and Branding Strategies” workshop concluded the day’s activities. This interactive seminar, led by Eliza Shanley, co-founder of The Women@Work Network, provided practical tips for returning professional women reentering the workforce and active professionals considering a career change.
The event, sponsored by the Holy Cross General Alumni Association, Office of Alumni Relations and Office of Entrepreneurial Studies, helped provide alumnae with the strategies and preliminary action plan to get them moving in a positive direction toward managing work-life balance and career change.
